19 SepL’shana Tova

Apples dipped in honey for a sweet new year!  Now that sounds good.

Today was my first Rosh Hashanah.  Although I did not get to go to Temple ( daddy went and prayed for Mommy and Me) or eat Apples and honey I had a great time hanging out with the family and got to meet a new cousin,  Jason.  It was great.  We had dinner the first night at my house with Nanna, Uncle Seth, Aunt Addie, cousin Sammy, cousin Hannah, and cousin Jason.  The next night Nanna made a great dinner at Uncle Seth and Aunt Addie’s house.  I played with my first cousins Hannah and Sammy.  I got to participate in my first lighting of the candles for Rosh Hashanah.  I am on my way to being a nice Hemisha Girl.   And for this year all I have to ask forgivness for are my stinky diapers.

Next year I can’t wait to eat some apples and honey and go to temple.

17 SepNothing like daddy’s arms

It is true.  Sometimes daddy does put down the camera and lets mommy take some pictures.

Even though daddy is scruffy and his arms are hairy…….One of my favorite places in the whole world to be is in the strong arms of my daddy!

07 SepIt’s Amy Time

This weekend I got my first out of town visitor ( besides my grandparents).   Daddy and Mommy’s great friend Amy W.  flew all the way from NY to come and see me for the weekend.  We had soo much fun.  We got to hang out, go to the park, and even get the famous Jackson’s Ice Cream.  Well, Daddy and Amy W had ice cream shakes and I just went for the ride with my doggy Yogi. I can’t have regular food for a while, but Jackson’s sure looked good.

04 SepLittle Stinker

Today mommy went to work and I had the whole day with daddy.  One of the first things i did was get a bath….because I stunk!!!  You see, I have like 7 little rolls around my neck.  And when I am feeding i don’t always get all the milk in my mouth and it drips down into the dark deep rolls of my neck.  And after a day or so that milk begins to stink.  When it is cleaned it is not a matter of a little water and soap around the neck… it has to be a detail surgical precision cleaning.  And nobody does this better then daddy.

This is one of the little gems that other parents don’t tell you about.  You just have to learn it on your own. Who knew I would actually be a little stinker.

01 Sep9 1/2 lbs BABY!!!

Today I went to the doctor to get my synergist shot.  The synergist shot, a vaccine against RSV.  Well, before they gave me my shot they weighed me and I weighed a whopping 9 pounds 8 oz.  I more then tripled my weight since I was born!!!  My mommy and daddy held me while in the doctors office.  And when I got my shot I only cried for about 20 seconds.  Mommy made Daddy hold me while I actually got the shot.  She did not want to be the bad guy.  And after the shots I got to go home and lay with my best buddy Yogi.  I am getting closer to her size ( length) everyday.  Oh, I am 21 1/2 inch long.

05 JulDalya Comes Home

After many weeks of waiting, hoping, and praying We got the word that Dalya was getting the green light to come home.  We would not have the terrific nurses to hold our hands anymore.  Dalya would be in our care 24-hours-a Day. That meant every diaper change every feeding and every wonderful moment.

After a few last minute touches to make sure the house was spotless and clean we left Yogi to enjoy her last hours of peace and silence.

At the hospital Amy gets Dalya into her “going home outfit”  The outfit is the same exact one that Amy wore when she came home from the hospital!!!  Grandma Penny saved it all these years.  Thanks Grandma.

Next we get all the discharge papers and head home.

01 JunOne Day Old!!!!!

One- day- old.  Boy what a change from yesturday.  24 hours ago I was nice and cozy inside my my mommy’s belly where it was dark and all the sounds were muted……Well things have changed.  I have all these things hooked up to me with lights and beeping sounds.

I am doing well ( thanks G-d).  But I am not sure my mommy and daddy have processed all this yet.

Mommy is still in a lot of pain from the surgery and daddy is running back and forth between being there for me and being there for mommy.  In fact, i do not think daddy has slept in 48 hours.  At least mommy has some good drugs to make her feel better.

I am in the NICU Level 3 unit and am being monitored 24-7.  I have a lots of wires and thins connected to me…but I don;t really seem to be bothered by them all that much.  I have three leads that are attached to my chest and stomach.  The first one monitors my temperature.  The second checks my heart rate.  The third check my breathing.  If any of these thing go up or down the slightest all kinds of bells and sirens go off.

I think my daddy almost had a heart attack the first time something went off. But you get used to it after a while.  I also have a tube in my mouth to feed me.  I have a central line in my belly button ( just in case the doctors need to give me life saving meds right away.  The thing in my nose is called a C-Pap.  It helps to give my lungs a little extra bit of help.  But I am breathing regular air and am not intubated.  Lastly I have a special blue light that comes from a Biliblanket.  This Biliblanket is giving me phototheropy to help with my jaundice ( a common thing with new premature babies and many newborn babies.)

More important then all this medical stuff is that fact that I finally got to see and touch my mommy today and she got to see me.  She sure is pretty.  I hope I got her looks and not daddy’s!!!

31 MayThe family gets the big news

By now Grandma Stephanie, Grandma Penny, Grandpa Arthur, and Aunt Addie ( uncle Seth had to leave to go do a bug show.  He needed to make some money to buy me lots of gifts) have been waiting for over an hour to hear the news.

New daddy Joshua headed to the waiting room after seeing that mommy and Dalya were in good shape.  With camera in hand daddy entered the room and was met with load cries of joy from everyone when he told them both mommy and baby were ok.

Before daddy could even say another word Grandma Penny yelled ( politely) “BOY OR GIRL.”

Daddy, thinking he would be funny hid the pink wristband that he was given to show he had a girl and handed over his camera with pictures of me.  But Daddy was sneaky and showed them one where my legs were crossed.

Grandma Penny was excited and filled with suspense.  In fact, daddy swears that if he didn’t tell grandma the sex in the next 3 seconds she might have been strangled 🙂

It was announced that Amy and Joshua had a baby girl.

Aunt Addie was crying with tears of Joy.  Grandma Stephanie had a smile from ear to ear.  Grandma Penny was so happy giddy.  Grandpa Arthur was silent but glowing with joy.

Thank G-d Mommy and me were stable.

Penny is so excited and is calling the relatives in NY to tell them the good news.
